Description: Includes photocopies of articles about Joseph Cushway. He was a Native American who lived in Mason County and helped Stearns secure the rights to operate on the Bad River and Lac du Flambeau Reservations in Wisconsin. Items include two articles from Ludington Record-Appeal (1903); Ludington Daily News (1916 and 1954). Also includes handwritten notes about sources dealing with Stearns's activities in Wisconsin. Copies include handwritten notes in the margins and highlighted sections.
