Includes photocopies of photos of letters from D.M. Browning (Commissioner of Indian Affairs) to Secretary of Interior John W. Noble. These items were originally found in the National Archives in Washington, DC. Letters date from October 26, 1893 and November 18, 1893 and address Stearns's proposal to establish a sawmill and timber cutting operations on Bad River Reservation. Copies include handwritten notes in the margins and highlighted sections. Also includes typed summaries with clear citations of the letters.
