Blade 9 inches long - 3 1/4 wide at center and 4 1/2 wide at each end. Handle goes through blade and is 35 inches long. Made of wood. Strip of black tape 2 wide is 8 inches up handle from the blade. Marked on the end of the handle - Lumbering Museum - South -

This axe was developed to fell trees in Michigan. The blade has been forged and probably made by a blacksmith in the camp.
