Description: 17 inch x 10 inch stout wooden box used to store loose tobacco. Rectangular unfinished wood, flaring sides, no lid, held together by nails; short sides are thicker than long sides.  
History: This tobacco box belonged to James Dexter, the early Justice of the Peace, who performed so many marriage ceremonies of the pioneer couples of Mason County, Michigan.
