Description: 5-26-1971 looking E from the W view site to the upper view site- cranes are for placing sections of the penstocks in place for welding into 10' sections 28' in diameter. in a project of this immensity the problems of auditor are many. Allie Voss for the C.P. Co. and Jim Ferguson for Detroit-Edison Co. have control and keep track of all the monies and inventories. They also spot check the perpetual inventories of equipment, parts of which belong to Walsh-Canoie Co. and parts that belong to the C.P. Co. most equipment is marked with a serial #. the Detroit-Edison has no equiptment. all other equipment belongs to the sub-contractors. C.P. Co. pays the costs of equip. or rents it for days or hours used. when new equip is brought in, Ebasco notifies the C.P. Co.- if special equip is necessary for a job it is on a cost- plus basis. it is a team effort to be sure that C.P. Co. gets what they pay for and also it is a concern of the construction engineers. C.P. Co. pays for cost- plus on them to get a job done the best and quickest. the newness of this Project makes changes or add-ons necessary. these are always on a cost-plus basis. egineers function to check on quality etc. the auditor is concerned over the cost and if it goes to high to find the reason why - LPSC Box slide # 14-252
