7-17-1970 progress at the powerhouse site. the excavation is around 30ft. deep at this date. it has to go 90 or 100 ft. below lake level ground water from the slopes gives some trouble. the powerhouse will be 9 stories high and 15 ft. above the lake level. the D12 earthmovers carry 27 cubic yards but the cats push them to accelerate unloading. the calcareous soapy sand is stock-piled and will be used again out in the earth filled reservoir bank after drying out - LPSC Box slide # 6-205
