"Telescope" pamphlet (Volume 18; Number 4), describes the Lake Michigan mystery of the sinking of "Pere Marquette 18". Captain Kilty was in charge of the boat the night it sank. Pere Marquette 17 is mentioned, manned by Captain Joe Russell. W.L. Mercereau (a.ka Bill Mercereau) was in charge of Pere Marquette marine operations and is described in the last part of the article.
